Creating Targets for Mercury Analytics

Configuring targets in Mercury Core that will flow into the Consultant Dashboard and the Manager: Performance vs Target report.

Introduction

Targets that are displayed in the Mercury Analytics Consultant Dashboard and Manager: Performance vs Target report are created, configured and assigned in the Mercury Admin app in order to flow through to the Power BI report.

Managers can create a name for a target against a pre-set Key Performance Indicator (KPI), decide the frequency the Consultant will be targeted on, and the target itself.  This target can then be easily assigned to one or many Consultants.

Who it's for

Team Leaders and Consultants.

Summary of the main screen

1 Create a Name for the new Target.
2 Select which available KPI the Target should apply to. The appropriate metric will be displayed - i.e. Count or Value.
3 Select a Frequency (Weekly or Monthly) and set the actual Target.
4 Easily allocate one or more existing Users to the Target.

Configuration summary

Step 1

For a user to be able to set Targets against the available KPIs, they firstly need to be assigned the Can update targets security role through Manage roles in the Mercury Admin app.

Step 2

In the Mercury Admin app, they will see a new entity in the Config area under Editable settings for "Targets".  There are currently 22 predetermined KPIs that can be used for setting targets, which are:

  1. All Interviews Arranged (First, Further, and Final)
  2. All Interviews Arranged (Shortlist Update Owner)
  3. Appointments - All
  4. Appointments - Candidate
  5. Appointments - Client
  6. Candidates Added
  7. Client Contacts Added
  8. Clients Added
  9. CV Submissions (Shortlist Update Owner)
  10. CVs Submitted
  11. First Interview Arranged
  12. First Interviews Arranged (Shortlist Update Owner)
  13. Info Records Added
  14. Offers
  15. Phone Calls - All
  16. Phone Calls - Candidate
  17. Phone Calls - Client
  18. Placements by Value
  19. Placements by Volume
  20. Spec Sends
  21. Split Value
  22. Vacancies Added

Step 3

Under the Targets entity is where a User (normally a Team Manger) can create a New Target and give it a Name. They can then:

  • Associate it to one of the 22 pre-set KPIs.
  • Set a Frequency (Weekly or Monthly).
  • Determine the Target itself (a Count for most KPIs, or a monetary value for Placements by Value and Split Value).

Step 4

When a Target has been created, it can be saved and then assigned to one or many individual Users.

Step 5

When an individual Consultant who has had Targets assigned looks at the Consultant Dashboard, they will then see something similar to below, featuring only their own data. The dials show performance against targets and the cards show: upcoming activity reminders, placement info, recruitment activity, and business development activity.

For more information see Overviews > Consultant Dashboard.

When a Manager looks at the Manager: Performance vs Target report in the Analytics app, they will then see something similar to below, featuring their team (and individual team member) data. The dials and graphs show the performance against KPI targets.
