Mercury is available in Outlook via the 365 Dynamics App.

The app gives you instant access to a contact's full record in Mercury. Appointments and phone calls can be logged as well as new contacts and client records.

From your Outlook menu you see the icon for the app in the top toolbar. Click to open.

The Mercury app will open. This can be pinned (top right) which will leave it constantly open. It can be unpinned at any time or closed.

The App and Email Tracking

When receiving an email from a contact where you are the only recipient, it will automatically track this into their timeline on Mercury. If there are multiple recipients in the system,
it will not know who to track it to, and it therefore does not track.

If you do wish to track to a contact Click the Ellipsis > Click Track without Regarding:

The email will then appear on that contact's timeline.

You will be able to tell if an email is tracked based on the category colour on your emails:

Blue = Tracked
Blank = Not tracked (as not a known contact in Mercury)
Pink = Not tracked, due to more than one email recipient being in Mercury (manual tracking is therefore required)
Tracking this email to another Record is possible.

Click the ellipsis > Click Set Regarding

Search for the Vacancy, Placement, Client or Contact record

If you'd like to view the full Contact record in Mercury .

Click the ellipsis > Click View in Dynamics 365 > Mercury will open in a pop up window on the specific record.

If emails are tracked but they contain sensitive data and you wish to untrack them, so they do not appear on the contact's timeline.

Click the ellipsis > Click Untrack

Viewing the Contact via the App is done by clicking on the Contact's name

You can then fully access and update the contact record. Click Save if you make any changes.

Logging Activities as you would in Mercury is possible. Click onto the Plus (+) > Activities

Choose the Activity you'd like to create and complete the details as you would normally.

For records not in Mercury, creating a new record is possible.  You will be advised at the bottom of the app if the contact isn't in Mercury.

If you would like to add to Mercury. Click the + button

Click Add as Contact

Complete the required fields > Click Save and Close

IMPORTANT NOTE:

If an email is sent via Outlook, not tracked, and then later a user tracks it using the Dynamics App, then within the Timeline, the email entry will show the date tracked and not the date the email was created.
