All of the left side menu options have their own associate views. If there is a View you frequent often, you can make that view be the Default View every time you click that specific menu.
In the below example, All Placements is the one the user wants to set as default. Click Placements > click the arrow and choose the view you want > click the arrow again > Scroll to the bottom > click Set current view as my default.
Next time the user clicks on Placements, "All Placements" will be the first view to be shown. You can have one Default View for each menu item.
