What

The Mercury v24 release introduced a new feature which allows the font style and font size to be restricted when using Email Editor.
This feature was introduced to assist companies with adhering to their branding requirements.

Where

To check and amend email template settings, users with Mercury Admin permissions would follow these steps:

  • Log into the Mercury Admin app.

  • Open the Support area.

  • Choose Configuration.

  • Search for and open DEFAULT_EMAIL_STYLE.

How

There are two settings fields that would need to be changed:

  1. Change the Value - boolean field to Yes.
Changing this value to Yes will remove the ability for users to be able to change the font style or font size within the Email Editor. These buttons will become hidden from Email Editor with this change.

  2. In the Value - string field type in your required font's details, for example: font:11pt Arial
With the above example, when the email is sent from Email Editor in Mercury, the system will force the font to be Arial with the size of 11pt.

Below is an example of how the DEFAULT_EMAIL_STYLE screen will look after the changes have been made.

Can formatting changes still be made to emails after these updates?

Users will still be able to add bold, underline and colour formatting to text as required.
