What

The purpose of this article is to explain to the user how to parse a Candidate's CV effectively. To do this, your business will be assigned a Daxtra Administrator who will be trained on how to efficiently use the Daxtra Capture instance.

How

CV parsing is a term used to describe the process of converting unstructured CVs from formats such as PDF, Microsoft Word, Excel and raw Text files into XML or JSON data. This process is naturally a conversion that inserts these documents into another application, and in this case Mercury.

Daxtra can parse different kinds of information from a CV such as Skills, Experience, Contact details, and Achievements. This can also be detailed to Job title, Location of previous positions, and Qualifications.

Your business will have been assigned two email addresses:

CV@testbusiness.com
Adresponses@testbusiness.com

The CV email address is where consultants can send an email with a CV attached. This is where Daxtra will communicate with the email, it will recognize a CV is attached, parse the information and inserts this into the CRM within 2-15 minutes.  The Ad response email will work similarly but is this for mainly any job adverts that Candidates see online - when they apply, their CV will be sent to that email address. Below shows an email that is ready to send:

1. Below shows the main screen of the Daxtra Capture instance. Please note that the Admin tab is only reserved for Mercury Support and other Sys Admins:

2. When the email is sent to the CV email address, click into the CV hyperlink:

3. The Successfully loaded status means that the Candidate has been loaded into the CRM. The Successfully Updated status means a record in CRM already exists with the same details, and that Daxtra has updated that contact entity and sent the CV to that contact in Mercury. Click on either magnify glass for Total:

4. As you can see, the Candidate has appeared on Daxtra with the status of Successfully loaded. This screen will tell you the name of the Candidate that has been parsed, the date and time, the creation date, and the update time. If you click on the Info magnify glass, this should take you inside that Candidate's details:

The key information here is highlighted above. The status of the CV parse is Successfully loaded. The Spool is CV@, and the logged-in user. When you hover over Download: Select file you may also download the raw file, which is the file that is sent to the email, and the extracted Profile in Rich Text format. There is no other action needed from the user here unless there is information that is incorrect.

5. This is where we move to the Validation part of the process. The Validate button should only be used when the status reads Missing information or Updates needed. This is because there is key information missing from the CV. To be created in Mercury, Daxtra will need at least 4 forms of contact details - First Name, Last Name, Address and Telephone Number. In some instances, Daxtra will show a missing information status and will wait for user input to validate the CV. (There will be another article for how to validate a CV)

6. Back in Mercury, the Candidate should have appeared. See below:

7. Navigate to the Documents tab to also see the CV:
