What

This article will demonstrate how you can edit Candidate CVs in real time using Microsoft Word Online, and then for the changes to be instantly shown in Mercury.

Where

Home > Contacts > select your View > click into a Candidate record > Documents tab > select & open the CV .doc file > Edit Document

How

1. Ensure that there is a CV .doc file stored under the Documents tab for a Candidate.

NOTE: This feature is available for any people-related entities in Mercury - i.e. Client, Vacancy or Placement records, as long as there is a .doc file within the Documents tab.

2. Navigate to the Documents tab and click on the .doc file you wish to edit:

3. A new Microsoft Word online tab will open in your browser. Click on Edit Document.

NOTE: There will be two options - Edit or Open in Desktop App - be sure to click on Edit

4. Your browser will refresh and all essential Microsoft Word features will appear, allowing you to treat the document just like you normally would in Microsoft Word:

5. Now you can freely edit the document as required. In this example we've changed Chris Test to Shaan Test and the change is recorded instantly. The cloud icon at the top left of the page indicates that all edits that you make are being instantly and continuously saved to your organisation's cloud storage location:

6. You don't need to click Save - simply exit the tab. If you then navigate back to the document you'll see that your changes have been saved!
