What
Build a Search query by using Copilot to return more bespoke responses. By using AI (which uses Boolean to filter the expansive data within Mercury), the process of looking for relevant Candidates is made that much easier! Copilot can be used in a generic search or in a Match To Vacancy Search.
NOTE: While the Search modal window is open, you can swap between search types (Filters, Groups, Boolean) and Copilot will still show your current search results.
Where
For this example we are going to use Copilot to perform a generic search.
Search > Mercury Search > Hello, User > Copilot
How
In this example, a user is looking for Candidates for an upcoming Project Manager role.
1. Search for a Job Title with any additional information: "project managers with experience in agile working":
2. Only 3 results are returned. The search would benefit from being expanded. This can be done by toggling Include Synonyms. By enabling synonyms, this will increase the amount of Candidates returned. If too many are returned, additional search parameters may need to be added to narrow down the results again.
NOTE: Click Show Query to see what additional synonyms are used in the search. These cannot be edited.
3. Results can then be further refined by giving Copilot more information. To see what filters or search terms can be used, see Glossary for Search Terms and Filter Terms in Search. In this example, the Candidate search is narrowed down by location (e.g. based in Chicago):
4. To add to, or further format Copilot's search criteria, click Show in Boolean to open the Boolean Search Builder. You can return to Copilot from here and your chat will remain active.
