Mercury Twilio SMS integration

Mercury has an integration with Twilio that allows users of that system to send and receive SMS messages from within Mercury. This article explains how the integration works and offers information about how you can make use of it.
Using this integration will help you to save time, keep all of your activities and interactions in one place, and improve client and candidate engagement.

Pre-requisites

In order to make use of this integration, in addition to using Mercury you will need to have a commercial agreement in place with Twilio.  You may also need to undertake a cleanse of your phone data to put it into E.164 format to ensure that the two-way communication works properly. More information about this is available here

NOTE: Although accessed within Mercury, the SMS integration is a Microsoft product and as such Mercury are only able to configure certain areas, and can not alter the way the functionality works.

How do I use the integration?

1. Once you are logged into Mercury, find the contact that you would like to send a SMS to:

2. Click on the envelope icon to open the SMS tab:

3. Once the tab is open, you will see a blank message screen:

4. You can choose which phone number you want to send the message to if the contact has more than one number attached to their record:

5. You can then write the message in the box below:

6. You can also choose to send the message from a number other than the one shown if you need to use a different “from” number:

7. You also have the option to use emojis in your messages:

8. And you can use templates that you have already set up to make it even easier to create and send the message:

9. When you have finished, click the airplane icon and your message will be sent:

10. You can then see the message in the Timeline of your contact:
