Mercury Product Update - November 2024

Each month I will now be sharing with you an update on recent updates that have been made to Mercury.

As you probably know, we have 4 main releases for the core Mercury platform every year, but in addition we also have a 2-weekly development & release cycle (called Release Trains) for other areas of Mercury, such as Analytics and the Candidate and Client Portals.

The latest version of Search is also part of this fortnightly process and so we are taking this opportunity to let you know with more regularity what has been developed.

Some of the release train updates are additional to Mercury Core, and so you may not be using them at the moment, but if you want to know more about any of these then please reach out to your Customer Success Manager who will be able to help.

You can find out more information about any of the items discussed here over in the Knowledge Base, and as always the Community Forum is a great resource to find out more.

Search enhancements

Thank you to everyone who has given us invaluable feedback on the all-new Mercury Search, I’m pleased to share with you the following updates that are now live for you to use.

Improved Boolean search

You are now able to use plain text to create your Boolean search, using all of the standard Boolean operators including AND, OR and NOT. Please note at the moment these operators are case sensitive.

You are also able to copy and paste your plain text search string into the search box.

Other Search enhancements

  • Location and Tag information carried over in Match to Vacancy
  • Structured search now available in Contact search
  • Add new Hot List in Contact search
  • Applicants included in Vacancy filter
  • Client comments added to search schema
  • Situation, Nationality and Candidate Status now show a list of options when selected
  • Hot List tab added to Candidate Card
  • Job Title and Employer editable on the Candidate Card

Improvements to Candidate Portal

We have made a number of UI and UX enhancements to the Candidate Portal to help with usability and also improve mobile responsiveness.

These are purely cosmetic changes and have been applied to the following pages:

  • My Details
  • My Contact Preferences
  • My Data Consents
  • My Current Placements

Mercury Analytics

Mercury Analytics offers a suite of reports that give Consultants, Team Leaders and Senior Managers an in depth understanding of their business.

Performance vs Target report enhancement

You are now able to change KPIs on the dashboard of the Performance vs Target report. The default KPIs are

  • Vacancies added
  • CV submissions
  • Interviews
  • Offers
  • Placements by value

We have now added the ability to choose from a range of other KPIs including Activities undertaken and Placements by volume. Up to 5 filters can be applied at a time.
