Information regarding version numbers 

For the next Mercury release, we are introducing a new naming convention to make it clearer when updates have been published.  

 

The January release will now be called Mercury 2026.1 (previously Mercury v36). We will then continue with three further releases during the year: 
 

  • Mercury 2026.2
  • Mercury 2026.3
  • Mercury 2026.4 


This aligns with the timings of our usual release schedule. 

 

Important information regarding Email Editor 

We have recently made some updates to the email editor and have noticed that when trying to send a CV via email you may see that you need to update your browser configuration to allow popups and redirects, or to explicitly allow popups and redirects for Mercury.

Welcome to the Release Notes for Mercury 2026.1 which will be rolling out to customers over January 2026. You can also see a summary of the highlights here. You can also see important information for Mercury Admins here. 

This release provides users with a mix of both brand-new functionality and enhancements to existing features, all of which have been developed to help improve your experience of using Mercury, and make you more efficient and effective.

Quick Create a Fee 

What: 

You are now able to use ‘Quick Create’ to add a Fee from any relevant form in Mercury. 
 
This form mimics behaviour and layout from the Fee's Main Form, whereby various sections and fields will become visible based on values selected from other fields.

  • Client (read-only) 

  • Contact  

  • Consultant 

  • Fee Type 
    If Fee;

This means you no longer have to open a separate Fee Record when you need to create one, instead you can stay on the screen you are using, making it quicker and easier to create a Fee.

Address Picker Control on a Vacancy 

What: 

There is a brand-new Address Picker Control on the Vacancy Record which means you are now able to search for a relevant address instead of having to scroll to find it.  

Where: 

Mercury Vacancy Form In Mercury 2026.1 this is available on the Vacancy form, however in Mercury 2026.2 this will be rolled out to all other areas in Mercury - (Placement, Fee, Contact, Placement Validation). 
 

Why: 

You will be able to easily find relevant address without having to scroll if the Client has a long list of addresses

Total Days on a Timesheet 

What: 

There is a new field on a Timesheet showing a summation of the Day Units of all its related timesheet lines. This will allow you to easily view the Days worked without having to open the full Timesheet, making it faster to get the information that you need, as well as enable you to use this information in reports. 
 
These are calculated only on submission of a timesheet via the candidate portal or when a recruiter manually edits a line and saves a submitted timesheet. 

Where: 

Timesheet form > Forecast/Actuals tab. 

Why: 

This will enable you to easily see how many Days were worked during that period without having to open the full Timesheet. The information will also be available for you to use in reports.

Defaults on Timesheet Template 

What: 

A couple of things have changed on the Timesheet Template form, these are: 

Timeline has been made invisible to end users 

A new section called "DEFAULTS" has been added, along with the following new fields: 

  • Time In

  • Meal / Break Out 

  • Meal / Break Rate 

  • Can Split By Project 

  • Can Split By PO

Please note: You are able to type in a time outside of the 15-minute interval, however, the starting 0 will NOT be populated when looking at the time 

This work has been completed in Core in preparation for showing it in the Candidate Portal but is not currently available in the Portal. That work will be undertaken as part of the Release Train. 

Where: 

Config Area → Timesheet Templates 

Why: 

So the Candidate doesn't have to populate that information and we can set it at a template level to apply to all Timesheets. This work is yet to be completed within the Portal.

IDEA-01075 - Candidate Company > ID required for Timesheet integrations 

What: 

There is a new dedicated Candidate Company ID field that can be used as a unique identifier for different Timesheet integrations.  

Where: 

Candidate Company form and all views. 

Why: 

This is particularly useful for recruitment businesses where they have global offices as this helps to ensure the Candidate Company ID is not duplicated.

What: 

You are now able to select an existing Timesheet and ‘Add Transactions’ which allows you to complete the Timesheet on behalf of the Candidate ensuring that it is linked to the relevant Timesheet.

This will ensure that Timesheets are completed in a timely and efficient manner and will result in smoother workflows.

Close Timesheet during Add Transactions 

What: 

To ensure that only one person is working to Add Transactions at a time you can use the  ‘Close Timesheet’ toggle which allows users to complete the Timesheet on behalf of the Candidate linked to the relevant Timesheet, safe in the knowledge that no-one else is working on the Timesheet.

Why:  

This will enable smoother workflows and ensure that Timesheet submissions are completed as quickly and as easily as possible.

Type of Rate Type 

What: 

You are now able to a specify a Rate Type so that you can more accurately record information on time-based Timesheets 

You can select between "Standard", "Overtime" or "Meal / Break" in the Rate Type Record.

What: 

When looking at Shortlists on the Mercury Vacancy Form it will now display the Shortlist Updates related to the associated Candidate for that Vacancy. This allows greater visibility of recent updates and ease of history for the Shortlisted Candidate(s) for any given Vacancy.

Why: 

This will give you a clear view of where and when statuses have changed for Shortlists associated with a particular Vacancy.

The Location field is now visible on the Mercury Vacancy Form in the Information section, below Country.

Customers using the NPS Survey automation are now able to view Customer Voice Survey activities such as invites and responses from the Timeline on Contact records. You are able to pin/unpin and open these records directly from the Contact.

This allows you to keep up to date with the latest feedback from your Clients and Candidates and easily see what has been sent and received.

This provides a consistent user experience so all types of compliance can be viewed under a single tab. This has also been updated on the UCI form.

Users are now unable to extend a Placement that has already been extended on another open tab.
